Retail Sales Supervisor

Location: Lagos
Responsible to: Business Development Manager
Accountable to: Managing Director

Job Summary

  • Responsible for managing a retail staff within a business. Coordinates the shipping of goods, sets up displays, and assists customers and staff during business hours.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for sales staff (Hiring and training new sales associates in the job function)
  • Supervises sales associate to ensures duties are being carried out
  • Sets and meets sales goals to keep profits flowing at high level
  • Helps retail sales staff achieve sales targets.
  • Ensures proper items are being restocked on shelves and that less popular items are not being ordered in large amounts
  • Ensures the sales floor is kept attractive and appealing
  • Maintains store’s cleanliness and health and safety measures.
  • Handles customer questions, complaints, and issues.
  • Utilizes technology to record sales figures, for data analysis and forward planning.
  • Ensures the highest standards of client service are maintained at all times

Education and Experience

  • A minimum of 3 years’ retail sales experience
  • BSc or HND in any field
  • Attention to details
  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills both verbal and written
  • Able to speak effectively in interpersonal situations
  • Strong independent work ethic, excellent time management skills, and organisational abilities
  • Good leadership and team working qualities
  • Good knowledge of MS Office
