We are recruiting to fill the position of:

Job Title: Senior Content Writer

Location: Ikeja, Lagos

Job Description

  • The Content Central unit of Softcom is a Creative Writers’ hub for print media (brochures), online media (social media, articles, blogs, and web copywriting), and all in-app written content.
  • We are looking for a creative Senior Content Writer to refine, plan, produce and analyze the written content we create.
  • Our ideal candidate is a team-spirited, skilled, experienced, and imaginative writer with an eye for detail, who writes clear and concise copy for scripts, social, in-app, and web content.
  • Your words will inform, educate, engage and convert a variety of target audiences.
  • You will oversee and ensure the desired creation of written and visual content, from conceptualization to publishing and reporting.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead the editorial team in brainstorming content creation materials and strategies to attract, encourage and drive the target audience to take the desired actions
  • Interpret copywriting briefs to understand and deliver on project requirements
  • Lead the team in writing engaging brochures, articles, blog posts, press releases, and editorial calendars, etc.
  • Write clean, clear, concise, and well-polished copy with a distinct voice
  • Proofread and edit content produced by teammates
  • Collaborate with Creatives and other Marketing professionals on a variety of projects(e.g. Social, print, in-app, web, and email content)
  • Use SEO principles to drive copy’s reach for web
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and customer challenges in order to build a more effective and engaging editorial calendar.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree and / or Master's Degree in Communications or the Arts
  • 5+ years proven experience as a Content Writer. Agency experience is a definite plus
  • Excellent creative writing, storytelling, editing, and proofreading skills
  • Vast experience in creating content for social media, web, app, and print
  • Super strong presentation, writing, and critical thinking skills
  • Excellent time-management and organizational skills
  • Experience with marketing professional services and familiarity with industry terms, deliverables, and processes.
