We are recruiting to fill the position of:

Job Title: News Editor

Location: Rivers
Reports to: The Senior News Editor.

Job Duties

Must put at the disposal of the Station your communication, analytical, editorial and reportorial skills to further shore up our news and current affairs operations.
Must have strong communication skills.
Work with the Senior News Editor to ensure that the Department's desk duties are in line with the Station's house style.
Coordinates, collates and edit news materials for broadcast.
Work with the Senior News Editor in coordinating the expansion of the scope of news operations in the station.
Ensures that the bulletins are ready at least 30 minutes before broadcast time and 15 minutes before airing of news updates.
Ensures that paid news items are paid and carried as scheduled.
Drive the Stations News and its listenership.
Perform any other duty as may be assigned from time to time by the National News Coordinator.
Analyze and capitalize various attributes and requirements of print and digital media to strengthen editor's position.
Monitor and use multimedia, and alternative storytelling strategies to widen listenership base.
Coordinate with colleagues in the newsroom and other departments to define priorities for same.
Sets agenda and ensures that it fits in with the style and brand of the station.
Obey all company's policies

Qualifications
Applicants must possess:

HND/Degree Certificate in Mass Communication.
3-4 years experience in News Editing in a media outfit.
Must be Honest and transparent.

Persons Specification:

Must have strong communication and interpersonal skills
Must be creative, innovative in the development, writing and editing of news bulletin
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Must be Honest and transparent.
