Job Title: Head of Agric & Field Technology

Ref: RHA001-20
Location: Kwara

Details
Responsible for administering field programs and implementing policy and procedures through supervision of staff. Will develop institute-wide program control and policy by:

  • Formulating and implementing policies through the analysis and application of data
  • Leading and implementing the design and formulation of research and training programs
  • Develop and manage the annual budget, work programs and ensuring adherence to control mechanisms

Requirements

  • First degree / MSc in Agricultural Science, Agric Extension or related degree
  • Minimum of 20 years practical field/industrial practical experience in Sugarcane Agriculture
  • PhD in any Field of Agriculture, Agricultural Engineering, Agronomy or related field.
  • PhD in Agricultural Biotechnology, genetic engineering/molecular biology, a good understanding of sugarcane genetics
  • Fellow/member of relevant professional bodies
  • Thorough knowledge of Agricultural technologies
  • Knowledge of agronomic techniques and skills to improve productivity, food security and livelihoods desirable
