Job Title: School Bursar / Accountant

Location: Abia

Job Description

  • Helps in developing and managing financial systems, policies and ensures compliance with statutory requirements.
  • Ensure accounting, financial documentations and reports are accurate, efficient, updated and on time

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for preparing financial reports, budgets and financial statements for the school.
  • Provides management with financial analyses, development budgets and accounting reports, analyses financial feasibility for the most complex proposed projects; conducts market research to forecast trends and business conditions.
  • Responsible for financial forecasting and risks analysis
  • Performs cash management, general ledger accounting and financial reporting for the school
  • Responsible for administering payrolls
  • Ensures compliance with taxation legislation
  • Handles all financial transactions for HGIS
  • Serves as internal auditor for HGIS
  • Performs all necessary interfaces with banks and other financial institutions.

Requirements

  • Should have a minimum of HND, B.A, B.Ed, B.Sc in Accounting, Statistics, Financial Management, Economics or Business Administration.
  • One (1) year post graduate relevant accounting experience in educational, banking, and accounting, or marketing firm. Advanced qualifications such as ICAN, ACCA, M.A, M.Ed or M.Sc is an added advantage
