Job Title: Chief Executive Officer

Location: Nigeria

Overview

  • Our client, a leading Oncology Centre in West Africa is hereby seeking to recruit a highly qualified and result oriented Chief Executive Officer to drive the business and achieve the strategic objectives of the Centre.

Job Summary

  • The ideal role holder will be responsible for leading the execution of the Centre’s short- and long-term strategy, making major corporate decisions on behalf of the Centre and managing the overall operations and resources of the Centre.

Job Duties / Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic direction and oversight to the management team to drive the Centre’s business towards profitable and sustainable growth
  • Implement the overall strategic direction of the Centre alongside the management team and ensure all employees buy into the Centre’s vision
  • Establish long term business strategies to achieve the center's objectives.
  • Oversee all clinical operations of the center.
  • Lead and inspire others to work as teams and strive towards a culture of service excellence.
  • Ensure that policies and procedures are developed for equitable distribution, maintenance and optimal utilisation of resources
  • Lead the annual business planning and budgeting process and define the compliance benchmark standards for the Centre
  • Oversee the preparation of the Centre’s budgets, forecasts and execution of projects
  • Proactively respond to opportunities and challen,s in the business environment
  • Ensure the development and implementation of a QualityAssurance Plan for the organisation as well as a team approach to ensure effectiveness.
  • Utilise collaborative and strategic relationships with stakeholders to obtain buy-in and improve service delivery to patients
  • Ensure that performance is effectively managed to support the development of staff and the achievement of organ isational objectives
  • Provide a motivational climate in which staff are empowered to maximise their potential
  • Monitor and evaluate the implementation of solutions and options in order to improve the effectiveness of problem-solving
  • Institute preventative measures to address potential problems and ensure problems do not recur in the future.
  • Build relationships with individuals, institutions or bodies within and outside Nigeria whose goals align with those of the Centre
  • Maximize platforms to engage with Government and regulatory bodies to guide the formulation of enabling laws, statutes and regulations
  • Create avenues to promote productive relationships among members of the Centre such as conferences and meetings for the discussion of technical and professional matters relevant to the healthcare industry.

Person Specifications:

  • Minimum of an MBA or MPH or Post graduate medical fellowship or any relevant master’s degree in anyrelated discipline
  • Minimum of 15 - 20 years post-graduation experience with at least 7 - 10 years’ experience in the healthcare or related industry e.g. hospital, oncology center, HMO, diagnostic centre, pharmaceutical company or chain of pharmacies and hospitality within the last 4 -years and in a C- suite position
  • International exposure
  • Evidence of strong industry / sector participation is required. Specific experience in managing multi- specialist hospitals is essential.
