Job Title: Monogram Operator

Location: Abuja

Job Description

  • The illustrator will be required to operate a monogramming machine to transfer prints unto clothes using threading system.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Operate sewing machine to embroider name, initial, or decorative designs on garments, household articles, material, or uniforms to stitch cording, braid, or emblems on material or garments, following stamped design or working freehand without guide or markings.
  • Refine designs with illustration software
  • Use various colours, graphics and effects to better visualize each concept
  • Format images using computer-aided design (CAD) software
  • Apply isometric techniques to add perspective to complex shapes
  • Participate in design briefs with clients, editors and/or marketers to identify their needs
  • Select size & colour of thread and draws it through machine guide bobbin.
  • Define time and budget limitations
  • Ensure that printed illustrations meet quality and colour standards
  • Brainstorm with the design team to come up with new ideas, patterns and styles
  • Stay up-to-date with new design techniques and software

Requirements

  • B.Sc Degree in Design, Visual Arts or relevant qualification
  • Proven work experience as an Illustrator, a Monogram operator or similar role
  • Hands-on experience with computer-aided design (CAD) software
  • Solid knowledge of image editing and digital sketching software, like Photoshop, In design and Adobe Illustrator
  • Drawing skills with an attention to detail (both by hand and digital pen)
  • Strong aesthetic and conceptual skills
  • Ability to collaborate and meet deadlines
