Job Title: Librarian

Location: Bayelsa

Job Description

The Polytechnic Librarian is a Principal Officer and head of the Polytechnic’s Library, and shall be responsible for the smooth running of the Polytechnic’s Library system and shall report to the Rector.

Qualification / Experience
The Candidate for the Polytechnic Librarian must:

Possess a good honours Degree in Library Science from a recognized institution of higher learning. Possession of higher degree(s) is an advantage.
Give evidence of current membership of Library Professional Bodies and registration with the Librarian Registration Council of Nigeria (LRCN);
Give sufficient evidence of continual scholarship and contribution to knowledge through publications in reputable peer review outlets.
Proficient in ICT packages
Have a minimum of Ten (10) cognate experience at the Library management position in a tertiary institution.
Have occupied the position of a Assistant Chief Librarian or Deputy Librarian in a tertiary institution
Must not be more than 59 years of age as at the time of assumption of duty.

Tenure of Appointment / Condition of Service

The appointment shall be for a single term of five (5) years.
The conditions of service for the post are the same as obtained in all Federal Polytechnics in the country.
In addition, the appointee shall enjoy any other benefits attached to the position of a Principal Officer of the Polytechnic.

Confidential Reports of three (3) Referees on the candidate.
