Job Title: Group Chief Financial Officer

Location: Ikeja, Lagos
Employment Type: Full time

Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum of 20 years of relevant finance and accounting work experience and minimum of 10 years as CFO / Senior Management experience
  • Experience within an Owner Managed business an advantage
  • Qualified Accountant (recognized international qualification)
  • MBA will be an added advantage

Skills and Competencies:

  • Strategic focus and forward looking, experienced in partnering with CEOs to develop and deliver business strategies
  • Previous experience in financing and debt structure and proven track record of raising capital
  • Familiarity with the Mergers and Acquisition process
  • Strong knowledge of accounting and internal control principles, operational risk evaluation and governance frameworks in financial institutions
  • Proven cash flow management skills
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS accounting principles
  • Thorough knowledge of relevant legislation and regulatory requirements as well as the ability to translate these into appropriate policies and procedures
  • Evidence of business partnering / creating value in diverse businesses and acting as a consultant to the business
  • Change management experience and can adapt to changing technology landscape
  • Experience / networking of the Nigeria banking sector
  • Evidence of growing people and developing organisationalcapability
  • Strong background in bookkeeping, accounts, finance, MIS, taxation, controls and processes
  • Able to develop, implement and review as at when due an ideal capital structure for each of the businesses
  • Management of forex risks and exposure to high volume transactions in local and foreign currencies
  • Ability to develop and oversee a qualitative and quantitative fit for purpose scorecard for each business
  • Adept at engaging supporting talents for operational issues while focusing on strategy

  • Strong people management skills
  • Experienced in building high performing finance functions or transforming finance functions
  • Has executive presence, carriage and can transition into CEO role in the medium to long term
  • Mature, pragmatic and flexible with strong commercial judgment
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and commercial business acumen
  • Data driven analytical thinking
  • Team leadership able to manage and lead the team.
