Job Title: Financial Analyst

Location: Lagos-Mainland Lagos

Job Description

  • Coverage and professional reporting of the Capital market, Fixed Income & Forex Market, the NASD OTC Market and Commodities Market.
  • Writing of equity reports on quoted companies or securities on various exchanges
  • Market commentary on major movements recorded in the market.
  • Comprehensive Reports reflecting new market regulations/change in policies
  • Analyze target company data to identify historical and projected financial and operating trends, quality of earnings and working capital considerations, and potential liabilities and risks, which impact valuation and negotiation of the target company
  • Portfolio analysis and recommendations
  • Financial ratio analysis and valuation
  • Develop commentaries or articles on selected topics as requested by the management
  • Study economic and business trends
  • Engage various market operators and regulators on market related issues in order to accurately report happenings in the financial market.
  • Contributing weekly, monthly and periodical reports/articles/commentaries on happenings in the market online and in print and making visible presentations on TV, at seminars and conferences

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Economics, Finances, Statistics or other related field.
  • 1 - 3 years of expertise as an analyst where he/shehas used economic, financial, market or statistical techniques to analyse business decisions, rather in the telecommunications industry and Mastery over Excel, Word, and statistical software
  • Professional Certification from any securities institute (in view or obtained) e.g. CIS, CFA, is required
  • Proven knowledge of financial forecasting and diagnosis, corporate finance and information analysis
  • Well informed about current financial and economic subjects
  • Must be highly proficient in the use of spread sheet and research and financial tools
  • Knowledge of regulatory environment for financial services industry, specifically the knowledge of Rules & Regulations of Securities & Exchange Commission (SEC) & NSE
  • Knowledge financial markets, corporate finance, financial analysis, Political awareness and socio-economic trends
  • Advanced research and analytical skills
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Well-developed people and interpersonal skills.

Salary
N70,000 - N100,000 / month.
