An Indigenous Midstream Gas Processing Company is recruiting a qualified and experienced candidate to fill the position below:

Job Title: Chief Financial Officer

Location: Head Office in Lagos with Plant and Base Operations in Delta

Job Summary

  • Reporting directly to the Managing Director, the Chief Financial Officer directs the day-to-day financial activities of the company with the responsibility of developing and implementing overall financial policies and objectives for the Company, ensuring the security and stability of the company's assets and funds, and identifying and securing additional financial resources to promote company's growth and business diversity

Principal Accountabilities

  • Provide direction to leadership, Executive Management, and staff on the financing strategy, company performance, business reporting and financial decision making
  • Develop and implement effective financial strategies, creating a strong framework and management systems to guide and support the Company's business operations
  • Assist in the formulation of the Company's future direction and supporting tactical initiatives particularly concerning the finance department.
  • Lead the process of raising equity and debt finance for the Company supervising the financial, legal and other advisers.
  • Provide financial advice on the company's short, medium- and long-term cash / funding / risk situation to the management.
  • Develop a planning process for the Company focused on long term value creation and risk management
  • Implement Board and Management financial policies in line with approved financial procedures and generally accepted Financial / Accounting practices and statutory requirements.
  • Develop performance measures that support the company's strategic direction.
  • Develop financial and tax strategies to manage Company's assets and liabilities, ensuring compliance with statutory taxation and financial reporting requirements
  • Oversee the corporate strategic planning process, company's annual budgets, monitoring and reporting performance against targets, variance analyses and initiate corrective actions
  • Liaise with internal and external auditors, regulatory authorities, and financial management consultants, coordinating the audit and reporting process for the Company's financial accounts and overseeing the frequency and accuracy of reporting to management and relevant stakeholders
  • Ensure efficient treasury and liquidity management, ensuring that cash is managed efficiently sources and uses of funds are analyzed over the short medium, and long-term and risk management strategies are utilized as required
  • Oversee and manage the Company's relationship with its financial institutions, investment banks creditors, development finance institutions, multilateral agencies, and equity investors, ensuring that accurate and timely information is provided to interested investors to ensure competitive financing terms are agreed upon
  • Perform other duties as may be assigned by the Managing Director (MD) Key Performance Indicators.

Minimum Qualifications

  • First Degree in Accounting, Finance or another related field from a reputable Higher Institution
  • A relevant Post-graduate Degree MBA M.Sc, etc) is an added advantage.
  • Certified Accountant (ACA / ACCA) professional qualifications are mandatory and any other relevant professional qualifications.
  • 15 years in a related field.

Skills and Competency Requirements:

  • Good understanding of the global and local oil & gas and energy industry
  • Proven qualifications and track record in a senior finance role, knowledge of current accounting standards, financial controls, risk management, operations of capital markets, requirements of private equity funds, and other institutional investors
  • Demonstrated ability to prepare financial statements, consolidated accounts, management accounts / reports, financial models and investment memorandums to a high standard
  • Strong organizational and negotiation skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge of internal controls and procedures for financial reporting and compliance with procedures and standards
  • Excellent relationship-building and networking skills
  • Strong leadership people, and change management skills
  • Professional, enthusiastic attitude, team player.
