A Telecommunications company that performs Value Added Services to the four major Mobile Network Operators in Nigeria, is recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Accounts Officer

Location: Lekki, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Responsibilities

  • Monitor the book of account, financial reporting, and financial compliance of the company.
  • Filing of company’s tax returns as at when due and obtaining the Tax Clearance Certificate (TCC) for staff and company expeditiously.
  • Assist in ensuring payroll preparation and approval is completed.
  • Preparation of bank reconciliation statement.
  • Maintenance of fixed assets register and safeguarding all assets.
  • Ensure timely filing of all monthly statutory deductions.
  • Update schedules for all payables.
  • Handle all petty cash disbursement, posting and reporting.
  • Handle all transactions, posting on SAGE evolution, GL reconciliation, Vendor account reconciliation and customer account reconciliation.
  • Ensure that payments are consummated on or before due date and advising the respective supplier/ departments about the payment.
  • Assist the Head of department in the preparation and monitoring of Annual Finance Budget.
  • Undertake any other tasks as may be assigned from time to time.

Qualifications / Experience

  • B.Sc. Degree or equivalent in any Finance-relevant course (Accounting, or Finance).
  • Either just completed the NYSC in an Accounting role, or 1 year (maximum) post-NYSC relevant working experience.
  • Student member of either ICAN or ACCA is an added advantage.

Knowledge / Skills / Ability:

  • Proven organizational and file management skills.
  • Strong ability to multitask.
  • Proficiency in MS Office suites.
  • Proficiency in SAGE Evolution accounting package is an advantage (not mandatory).
  • Well-developed numeric skills.
  • Good personal and interpersonal skills such as: communication; teamwork; self-motivation; demonstrable initiative and attention to detail.
  • An ability to prioritize, plan and organize work in a busy environment.
  • Willingness to work flexibility in response to changing organizational requirements.
