Job Title: Account Clerk

Location: Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Description

  • An Account Clerk is responsible for assisting with both clerical and administrative tasks.
  • The scope of this role covers the financial management of the operations of the organization which includes: reporting, budgeting, and general account management.

Responsibilities

  • Provide accounting and clerical support to the accounting department.
  • Type accurately, prepare and maintain accounting documents and records.
  • Makes ledger entries and ensure accuracy of all transactions.
  • Assists accountants and accounting managers in handling the accounting department's work flow
  • Creating and maintaining spreadsheets
  • Performing clerical work and interoffice support including receiving and processing mail
  • Accuracy in accounting
  • Perform account payable and receivable transactions.
  • Keep a thorough record of all company charges, as well as any refunds that may have been issued
  • Reconcile all accounts
  • Keep intact documents or items that the accounting department is responsible for, including checks and invoices, as well as vouchers, accounting statements, and other reports and records
  • Compile all financial records
  • Assist senior accounting personnel with any tasks conducted within the accounting department,

Requirements

  • Interested candidates should possess a Bachelor's Degree / HND qualification in Accounting.
  • The ability to act responsibly and ethically when working with sensitive financial information
  • 2 years of Accounting/Finance work experience
  • Must have completed Accounting Technician Scheme.
  • Good communication skills
  • Time Management
  • Familiarity with bookkeeping and basic accounting procedures.
  • Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and financial reports.
  • Excellent use of accounting software
  • Aptitude for numbers and quantitative skills
  • Knowledge of Excel, as well as other Microsoft Office applications
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in the use of Excel and Quickbooks
  • Hands on Experience in Retail business reconcilation of sales and receivables
  • Bank and POS reconcilation.
  • Coalition and Processing of payments / payables.
  • Thorough knowledge of general ledger accounting and account reconciliation.
